Network Designer

Job Description:

Ensure the design of telecommunication network plans with the Smallworld software, aiming for technical quality that meets industry standards, and this, at a minimum investment cost. Ensure the follow-up of projects in order to keep the time required to a minimum for the issuance of plans. Act as a resource during the construction of the project.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform the drawing and prepare the basic plans associated with the project for which he is responsible.
• Visit the site as needed and attend meetings associated with the project for which he is responsible.
• Prepare a cost estimate for projects or other requests and submit its recommendation to his superior.
• Prepare the information necessary for the realization of requests for right of way and construction.
• Carry out field visits as needed and determine the optimal route or possible alternatives for carrying out projects.
• Prepare your files in order to indicate without ambiguity the precise needs in field surveys to the liaison officers and answer any questions they may have about the work to be done in the field.
• Keep its project follow-ups up to date at all times in order to allow a better understanding of them by the groups concerned.
• Carry out the design of the projects according to the standards in force.
• Ensure that the plans required to obtain the necessary rights of way from the various owners of existing structures and other stakeholders are carried out correctly and on time.
• Collect the information necessary for the realization of the projects and ensure the follow-up.

Job Requirements:

• Proficiency in computer-aided design and drafting
• DEC in electronics or civil engineering
• Good oral and written knowledge of French and English
• Possess one (1) year of experience as a technician in cable television or in drafting design
• Hold a valid driver’s license
