Senior Data Engineer

Job Description:

In this exciting role, you will help design and build the infrastructure needed for optimal data usage and results. You will identify, design and implement the internal processes to support data-driven decision making across the organization as well as mentor junior data engineers on the team

Job Responsibilities:

• An innovative approach to building and nurturing data flow processes
• Knowledge to support and mentor cross-function team members
• Own and support data products lifecycle from inception to product delivery
• Both big-picture strategic and in-the-trenches tactical approach to data managemen
• Ability to create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Skills to assess business requests and provide response and direction quickly

Job Requirements:

• Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Tableau), Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Strong understanding Agile and DevOps, including CI/CD technologies and practices, Excellent listening, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferably), Strong knowledge of data modeling, data architecture and data structures
• Understanding of data processing performance concerns and issues (configuring database server/data schema for performance, optimizing SQL)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer professional
• Competent with general scripting/software development
• Experience with Mentoring junior team members/Data Engineers is an asset
