Job Description:
As a member of the MLSE’s Finance Payroll Team, you will support our North American vertical, while ensuring efficient processing of the end to end payroll cycle. This includes on cycle and off cycle Payrolls, Payroll Accounting, and Reporting for a variety of groups including hourly, salary, and other employee types as the need arises.
Job Responsibilities:
- Completion of Year-end adjustments, reconciliation and filing requirements including T4, T4A, and other tax forms as the need arises
- You will provide outstanding service to both internal and external customers and partners;
- You will act as a subject matter expert (SME) to internal customers on Payroll matters including regulatory and legislative matters;
- Act as future backup on other MLSE salaried Payrolls;
- Act as the first-level review following P&I approvals, and process Payroll transactions, all forms of compensation for full-time semi-monthly
- Corporate, and the weekly LIVE Entertainment IATSE employees;
- Reconcile all Payroll data and output reports, ensuring all policies, procedures, and internal controls are met
- Future ad hoc support with US and Team payroll
- Collaborate and partner with the People & Inclusion (P&I) department on pay matters;
Job Requirements:
- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented approach
- You are motivated and are able to prioritize tasks under tight time constraints
- Although not required, if you have earned a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation you will thrive in the role!
- You bring a strong understanding of HR practices, Canada Labour Code as well as the Ontario Employment Standards Act
- You have a solid understanding of Payroll accounting and strong Excel skills
- You are known as someone who is detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy even while working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- You have 3 or more years of Payroll experience;
- You can work independently and be a strong collaborator and teammate
