Job Description:

Duties will be split to support both repair team and purchasing team.  Assists maintain inventory levels to ensure availability of stock. Liaise with internal/external customers as well as suppliers to understand the needs and to ensure products are acquired in a timely manner.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers.
  • Regular follow up and expediting of critical orders with suppliers and internal customers, to final receiving, communicating updates timely.
  • Generate ad hoc reports, as necessary to analyze and understand purchasing trends, history, supplier performance, order status, and inventory changes, to support the daily work focus.
  • Constructively participate in annual Safety and Quality audits, survey, or investigations.
  • Follow up with internal customers to confirm parts information, gathering requirements if necessary to research product solution and complete order in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate product returns when required as a result of shipping or product issues.
  • Manage and follow up on any loan/borrow components/tools, applicable invoices, exchange or core returns.
  • Assist with any identified departmental objectives or initiatives as required.
  • Fully understand supplier purchase or component repair contracts, including vendor obligations, TAT (Turn Around Time) commitments, penalties, spares support, exchanges and core returns.
  • Use knowledge of best practices, company guidelines, to manage purchasing and repair related costs (i.e. shipping, terms of payment, supplier selection, etc.) outside of contracted terms.
  • Negotiate with suppliers in a timely manner to obtain product with optimal price and quality.
  • Work with Jazz warranty administrator to ensure applicable supplier or manufacturer warranty is applied and achieved, to all purchases or repairs.
  • Follow up with Material Coordinators, Stores personnel and Suppliers to facilitate resolution of critical operational situations, while ensuring costs are managed whenever possible.
  • Daily monitoring or expediting of open orders to maintain stock and minimum inventory levels.
  • Daily requisition review and analysis, to place order, or optimize inventory. Providing input into the creation and/or adjustment of inventory minimum and maximum stock levels as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide monthly reporting on activities and achievement of savings targets.
  • Resolve problems with suppliers relating to parts, shipping errors, technical or certification issues, CID/O&B(customer induced or over and above charges), disputes, pricing and invoicing etc
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of the internal computer systems, to manage/maintain/amend purchasing data, repair data, part number data, to provide clear instructions and information.
  • Detail review and approval of supplier repair cost estimates and invoicing, notes and updates in the necessary systems.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Ability to understand and interpret department and corporate objectives.
  • Must be fully vaccinated with a Canadian government approved vaccine against COVID-19 prior to start date.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft word, power point and excel is required.
  • Working knowledge of aircraft IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalogue) and (Component Maintenance Manual) an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of procurement or supply management experience is required.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, managing stress when handling critical situations in a fast-paced work environment.
  • SCMP/PMAC (Supply Chain Management Professional/Purchasing Management Association of Canada) accreditation, and/or other procurement training is an asset.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and multitask.
  • Working knowledge of Trax Maintenance information system considered an asset.
  • Aviation related procurement experience is an asset.
