Job Description:

Act as company subject matter expert to support administration of the Environmental Management Program and the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Program.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support environmental audits as per planned arrangements and maintain records of audit findings.
  • Maintain Potable Water Management Program manual.
  • Maintain the Environmental Management System Manual and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain Federal Identification Registry for Storage Tank Systems reporting and Storage Tank
  • Emergency Response Plans.
  • Maintain regulatory reviews and update internal departments.
  • Maintain National Pollutant Release Inventory reporting.
  • Execute or support onsite or remote environmental audit activities as directed, which may include records review, site tours, conduct interviews, gather evidence, etc.
  • Review environmental sections of lease agreements.
  • Act as Jazz point of contact for Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) emissions monitoring and reporting.
  • Conduct environmental risk assessments and support the management of environmental aspects.
  • Support internal communications relating to environmental affairs.
  • Develop and support delivery of environmental awareness and TDG training.
  • Participate in Corporate Emergency Response as an Emergency Response Field Team member.
  • Maintain environmental policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with regulatory officials
  • Develop and maintain Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste management policies and procedures.
  • Assist Safety and Quality Auditors with development and refinement of environmental audit checklists.
  • Investigate environmental and TDG incidents, determine regulatory reporting requirements, and appropriate corrective action.
  • Develop and maintain emissions monitoring plans and reports.
  • Provide support and advice to auditees for appropriate Corrective Action Plan development and execution.
  • Support administration of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Program.
  • Review department compliance with Hazardous Material and Hazardous Waste policies.
  • Provide support for managing compliance with applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal environmental legislation, regulations and bylaws

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to confidently conduct meetings, investigations, and conference calls.
  • Experience working with regulators and industry associations relating to environment and TDG is preferred.
  • Degree or Certificate in an Environmental Discipline is preferred.
  • Must be capable of writing clear, concise reports.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an Environmental related role required.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and previous experience with database applications.
  • Ability to communicate in English required.
  • Accreditation by a provincial technical association is an asset.
  • Training and/or thorough understanding of quality management fundamentals, root cause analysis and risk management principles is preferred.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Must have training or be knowledgeable in environmental and TDG regulations and guidelines.
