Sr. Manager, Reporting and Analytics Technology

Job Description:

Reporting into the Director, Technology, the Sr. Manager, Technology will work to develop data, reporting, and analytics enablement solutions for The Home Depot Canada division. Utilizing industry-leading technologies, he/she will work with Technology teams and business partners to understand strategic initiatives and deliver leading edge analytics capabilities. The Sr. Manager will be expected to apply advanced problem-solving techniques and coordinate with core team members to identify and implement innovative solutions supporting complex business logic.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts financial analyses to support strategic planning on system purchases, upgrades, and reclamation. Negotiates favorable prices with vendors on hardware and software.
• Provides operations analysis and consults to internal clients on business process improvement.
• Communicates status of activities with the team, peers, management, and end users.
• Resolves information services problems by analyzing issues, discerning the most appropriate courses of action, providing tactical direction and, when necessary, reallocating resources.
• Lead the Reporting/Big Data/Analytics space to drive value for key business strategies including technology assessment, use case development, as well as solution outline and design (conceptual, logical & technical) for modern (big) data & analytics architectures.
• Selects, develops and motivates assigned staff
• Works with internal Technology organization to coordinate operational and project.
• Manages and tracks the progress of multiple cross-functional projects. Conduct regular project reviews. All within an Agile Framework.
• Manages and provides technical and business direction that affects capacity planning, new applications, data security, and LAN systems, among others.
• Builds relationship with key users across the Home Depot Canada organization to enable the right technology and solutions.

Job Requirements:

• Experience in SAP technologies will be considered an asset
• Experience working with Enterprise class analytics technology stacks including Data Warehouse
• Platforms, Big Data Platforms and Reporting Technologies
• Experience with Machine Learning, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics related technologies
• Extensive experience in data engineering, big data, reporting and analytics solutions in multiple Platforms
• Experience in Cloud platforms such as: Google Big query, Azure or others
• Proven experience leading implementation of large Business Analytics solutions supported by technologies at scale
• Presentation, facilitation and writing skills
• Proficiency with the Home Depot software architecture, methodology and governance.
• Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets expectation, consistently demonstrates).
• 10 plus years’ experience in related field is preferred, over 4 years of which are in a manager capacity.
• Excellent communicator, able to adapt presentations to different target audience across business and Technology
• People leadership/supervisory skills
• Business and financial analysis skills
• A Bachelor’ s degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
