Job Description:

As the Regulatory Reporting Technician, you are maintaining all of Energy Services’ regulatory models and reports in Adaptive Insights/Office Connect in order to support regulatory, budget and forecast reporting. You act as a subject matter expert in Adaptive Insights and Office Connect tools for Energy Services’ and provide support to both the Energy Services’ Finance and Operations teams to enable successful use of the tools. You are also accountable for providing routine financial analysis and month end support to the Energy Services Finance team. This includes ensuring that financial results, forecasts and budgets are accurate.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting testing the Adaptive Insights and Office Connect regulatory models and reports to ensure accuracy of results
  • Developing and maintaining the Regulatory models including Product Line Statement and the Cost allocation models in Adaptive Insight
  • Developing report building and other Adaptive skills in order to fully leverage Adaptive capabilities for forecasting, budgeting, regulatory and other reporting purposes.
  • Using Adaptive Insights and Office Connect expertise to train both Energy Services Finance and Operations teams on effective use of the Adaptive Insights and Office Connect tools
  • Supporting the Senior Analyst, Regulatory Reporting in developing and implementing the budget, forecast and regulatory processes
    at you’d be responsible for
  • Supporting testing SAP enhancements and bugs to ensure accurate financial reporting

Job Requirements:

  • A diploma in accounting, finance, economics, statistics or related area from a recognized post-secondary institute is required
  • Basic understanding of accounting concepts and experience with working on budgets and forecast
  • 4+ years of experience in a corporate environment with strong knowledge of major financial application systems such as Oracle, SAP and/or a major budgeting tool like Adaptive Insights
  • Advance user of MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Power Point
  • Experience with budgeting software (e.g. Adaptive Insights, Office Connect, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including modeling and reporting
  • A Bachelor Degree would be considered an asset
  • Experience preparing regulatory cost of services and compliance reporting would be considered an asset
  • Ability to effectively communicate and build working relations with both internal and external customers
  • Knowledge of the electricity industry and regulatory environment would be considered an asset
