Scrum Master

Job Description:

The Scrum Master supports the team on their Agile journey and supports the team’s ability to deliver on their committed goal. The Scrum Master helps teams learn and adopt Agile practices, facilitate events, remove impediments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance and continuous improvement of Agile events and project/program management practices
• Support the Product Owner to ensure teams actions are aligned with the Product goals / vision
• Identify and action impediments that interfere with team progress and achievement of the team’s goals (e.g., using burndown charts at stand-ups, OKRs)
• Ability to navigate, communicate and decipher trends using team metrics (e.g., velocity), DevOps/ IT metrics along with barometer scores and progress against OKRs
• Facilitate team events (e.g., planning, retro, Kanban flow)
• Organize the processes of decomposition and story/task estimation. Co-ordinate cross-team technology dependencies
• Coordinate interaction with other teams at Scrum of Scrum sessions and any other relevant Product level synchronizations
• Support identification of trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team and Product Owner
• Clear obstacles in the team’s path (e.g., dependencies on other teams), maintain a list of risks, impediments and improvements

Job Requirements:

• Completed an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in project management, program management or business analysis
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a dedicated Scrum Master
• Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile principles and the Scrum Framework and Kanban
