Job Description:
As the Director Positive Train Control (PTC) & Train Control (TC) Systems you will ensure the delivery of the multi- disciplinary program scope of work, on time, within approved budget, to the specified quality as well as meeting regulatory safety performance and documentation requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Managing Director of PTC/TC in the development of organizational and logistical plans to execute the program. This includes resourcing strategy, succession and retention plans;
- Manage the overall PTC/TC integrated project plan. This entails breaking down the 4 year PTC/TC Program logistical plan into annual program plans. Identify key dependencies of the individual work stream plans and linking them to the overall integrated program plan;
- Assist in communicating overall Program progress to executive management. Identify any major program scope changes and bring forward recommendations to deliver them;
- Establish the process and then work with work stream leads and financial analyst to develop the multiyear financial plans and annual capital budgets for PTC/TC;
- Negotiate vendor contracts and then manage their performance to ensure they meet contract terms and conditions. This includes the engagement and management of CP’s supply services, establishing contract negotiations strategy, development of master service agreements and eventually the development of business case to proceed;
Job Requirements:
- 5 – 10 years railway experience with 10 years of large scale, complex program management;
- MBA and PMP certification would be preferred;
- Strong IT and communication industry based knowledge with understanding of electronic systems;
- Experience with computing infrastructure, communications networks, application development, project management tool and methods;
- Problem solving/strong analytics;
- Strong people leadership, sound judgment, initiative, flexible, detail-orientated;
