Job Description:

A Heavy Duty Mechanic in the Transit Fleet Department plays an integral role in the effective & efficient
delivery of transit services to the residents of Regina. This is a fast-paced environment where safety of
employees, operators and citizens are of the utmost importance. Work in the Transit Fleet garage involves
maintenance and overhaul of bus engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspensions, steering, air
conditioning and all auxiliary equipment, including electrical components. Due to the high degree of impact
Transit Fleet operation has on the delivery of transit services, this shop operates a 7-day per week shift. Our
hard working & valued employees are guaranteed to have two consecutive weekends off, which helps to
maintain a healthy and positive work/life balance.

Job Requirements:

• Two (2) years trade experience
• Class 1A driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
• A standard set of hand tools
• Machinery Technician certificate
• Journeyperson’s Certificate in the Truck & Transport Trade or Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade or Agriculture
