Job Description:
The Data/Operations Analyst position supports research, analytics and evidence-based decision making for the Community Standards and Neighborhoods Branch. Some examples of how your work will impact Edmontonian are through the evaluation of enforcement and community programs, informing the efficient deployment of City enforcement officers, and supporting the Problem Properties Initiative.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and environmental scans to identify opportunities and trends
- Provide direct analytical support to the Community Standards and Neighborhoods Branch
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of reports, presentations, and other written materials
- Develop, collect, analyze, evaluate and disseminate data, performance measurements, and key performance indicators
- Collaborate to identify and develop process and procedure improvements, conduct gap analysis and provide recommendations
- Develop community project evaluation tools and strategies
- Conduct and analyze surveys
- Develop performance reports with critical analysis of activities to support resource deployment and service improvements
- Develop effective data collection and reporting mechanisms, including trend analysis, neighborhood trend analysis, chronic offender identification, heat mapping, causation analysis, risk terrain modeling, dashboards, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Adapt quickly to changing needs, are an excellent communicator and are comfortable advising senior leaders
- Experience in developing, designing and/or evaluating organizational development initiatives and programs in the areas of team building, strategic planning, visioning exercises, management and leadership, organizational development needs assessments and programming consultations
- Are a systems thinker, able to make linkages and help others see the big picture
- Aligns decisions and behaviors to the Cultural Commitments of Safe; Helpful; Accountable; Integrated; and Excellent, and encourages the same in others
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing and communications, organizational development, public administration, human resources, psychology, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Project management, change management, and organizational development certification and/or training is an asset
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and develop innovative plans that can be implemented
- Skills in building relationships, fostering collaboration, and influencing change
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a strategic advisory role within organizational development, human resources, communications, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Direct experience in organizational design, project management and developing large scale/corporate-wide programs
- Experience working within a large public sector organization and in a unionized environment is considered an asset
