Skate Monitor

Job Description:

The Citizen Services Department is currently recruiting for enthusiastic Skate Monitors to contribute to the safety and fun of patrons at City facilities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Advise participants of safety requirements
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned
• Track program attendance and ensure shinny participants have paid their fees
• Follow and enforce rules to ensure the safety of patrons and staff
• Supervise public skating and shinny hockey as scheduled
• Assist, direct and provide information to the public regarding arena programs

Job Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 or GED
• Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
• Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) is an asset
• Possession of valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification required
• Experience working with the general public, including children
• Ability to work independently under minimal or no supervision
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic level of proficiency using Google Applications
• Skating ability and possession of skates and helmet
• Minimum 18 years of age is required
• Ability to work in various arena locations throughout the City
