Project Lead, Zoning Bylaw Renewal

Job Description:

Be a part of the team that is modernizing the Zoning Bylaw and transforming the way we deliver land development services to support Edmonton’s growth, change, and competitiveness as a major Canadian city. The Zoning Bylaw team needs a Project Lead that is committed to making use of innovative approaches to land development service delivery and building consensus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Respond to Council requests and develop and lead Zoning Bylaw implementation projects
• Lead and manage complex implementation projects and components of the Zoning Bylaw Renewal Initiative
• Participate and lead in the development of change management strategies and activities
• Direct the production of public engagement materials to help residents understand complex regulations and zoning rules
• Develop systems and approaches that improve efficiency, consistency, quality of service delivery, stakeholder collaboration, advances equity,
• and fosters vibrant and inclusive communities.

Job Requirements:

• Applied knowledge of land use regulations, zoning bylaws, and the Municipal Government Act
• Bachelor Degree in Urban Planning, or a related field such as Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Human Geography from a recognized post-secondary academic institution
• Ability to identify issues and risks and apply methods and solutions to resolve these issues and mitigate risks
• 4 years of progressively responsible experience in urban planning, land use planning, project management, and change management
