Job Description:
The Manager, Access Programs is responsible for projects related to OPAIP grant funding through all phases including initiation, planning, execution and closing while holding accountability for accomplishing the project objectives and maintaining the progress, mutual interaction and tasks of various parties in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, and minimizes costs. The Manager will be facilitating all necessary consultations, determining priorities for implementation, negotiating alignment of processes, and establishing common policies and best practices to ensure achievement of strategic goals related to the assigned project The Manager will ensure that OPAIP projects (e.g., process and outcomes) are in alignment with the College’s 3-year Strategy, the Student Experience and Success Divisional Strategic Plan, the College’s Indigenous Strategic Framework, and the College’s Anti-Black Racism Commitments.
Job Responsibilities:
- Represent the department as required on college committees, community organizations, agencies and at conferences.
- Work with the SCE leadership team to prepare a comprehensive strategy, supporting documentation and implementation plan for OPAIP projects.
- Analyse project priorities, objectives and measurable outcomes so as to report on progress and provide recommendations for new programs and services that will serve to meet the needs of Centennial’s racialized students and the College more broadly.
- Lead a team of support staff and student workers dedicated to implementing the OPAIP project, including hiring and onboarding employees.
- Prepare and maintain College and funding reports on project activities.
- Design, develop and implement the assessment framework for OPAIP projects to determine if team is meeting project targets.
Job Requirements:
- Four (4) year degree or 3-year diploma plus certification relevant to Business Management, Project Management, or a related field OR equivalent education and work experience
- Experience leading and/or managing projects/programs in support of equity-deserving and/or marginalized communities an asset.
- Able to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Honed critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access); Microsoft Project and Visio experience is an asset
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience in managing a variety of projects or programs preferably in an educational institution
