Job Description:
The Director of Advancement is responsible for leading and overseeing all fundraising, volunteering and alumni relations efforts of the school community and ensuring the coordination and alignment with the vision, mission and values of Southridge.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop prospects for the organization’s fundraising priorities who have the capacity to make special contributions including major gifts, planned giving, leadership contributions and specialized contributions of specific talents
- Attend provincial (ISABC) and national (CAIS) meetings and conferences for advancement professionals
- Create an appreciative and understanding environment for personal and extended benefits of philanthropic contributions
- Ensure that donors and volunteers are recognized and appreciated
- Identify and develop relationships with all constituents
- Lead, advance and communicate opportunities for all constituents to develop a sense of philanthropy regarding Southridge Annual Giving Campaign
Job Requirements:
- Proactive and creative approach to problem solving
- Consultative management and leadership style
- Exceptionally well organized and proactive approach to task execution
- Prior experience working with BlackBaud will be considered an asset
- Administrative experience, preferably in an independent school setting
