Research Assistant I

Job Description:

The Madison lab at Brandon University is investigating biodiversity in regional watersheds though the analysis of environmental nucleic acids, with focus on aquatic biota within the Central Assiniboine River (near Brandon, MB).

Job Requirements:

• Background knowledge in molecular biology laboratory work is required, e.g; (e/D/R)NA extraction and amplication, including basic training and experience in a research laboratory is expected.
• Successful candidates will be expected to be able to complete objectives in a timely manner, with specific detail to QA/QC of laboratory practices and samples.
• Only successful candidates will be contacted for follow-up.
• Experience with primer design, metabarcoding/sequencing/-omics, qPCR, etc., is preferred.
