Job Description:

Within the IT operations, the incumbent is responsible for managing and planning activities related to the electromechanical infrastructure of computer rooms and other related equipment. He/she must ensure the proper functioning of the equipment. He/she is responsible for setting up the infrastructure in the computer rooms, the implementation and installation of computer equipment in accordance with the standards and procedures in effect.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participates in various infrastructure projects;
  • Due to the nature of the work function, this position favours office work, however, working from home will be allowed on a limited basis.
  • Produce dashboards on the availability of the sites;
  • Management of generator start-ups on our sites;
  • Follow up on the electrical loads on our inverters, generators, and distribution panels in the rooms;
  • Manage emails and alerts received from our electromechanical components;
  • Coordinates, plans and carries out the physical installation and physical removal of materials and equipment(s) in relation to the Systems and Networks teams, the Purchasing/Logistics department and internal and external suppliers;
  • Manage the requests for additional electricity according to the requirements of the infrastructure manufacturers;
  • Management of equipment addition/removal requests (cabinet selection, electrical cable installation, network and fiber optic cable installation);
  • Manage the maintenance of the electromechanical components of the rooms in Canada;
  • Coordinate the implementation and installation of computer equipment in accordance with current standards and procedures;
  • Management of the physical inventory of computer equipment and their electrical and network connections;
  • Management of the access to the rooms and management of video evidences;
  • Update software used (inventory management, monitoring management, alerts and load management);
  • Provide on-call support 24/7 in rotation;

Job Requirements:

  • DEC in computer science or equivalent experience;
  • Sense of responsibility, dynamic and organized;
  • 3 years experience in room management or equivalent experience;
  • Excellent customer focus;
  • Ability to promote harmonious relations between team members;
  • Ability to plan for the long term and have a strategic vision;
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving leadership;
  • Bilingual, oral and written;
